Christabel Khiangte Corazza
Born in New Delhi, India, the youngest of eight children and the daughter of K.C Lalvunga -Zikpuii Pa, the first Ambassador of India, from the Northeastern state of Mizoram & Writer of the Century for Mizo Literature, Christabel Khiangte Corazza has had the privilege of living in many countries such as Australia, Nepal, Colombia, Oman, Dubai, Abudhabi, India, China, North Korea, Jamaica and USA. She also speaks many languages. Her studies took her from the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains (Woodstock International School), where she earned a certificate of excellence in Voice, Piano, Advanced Chorale. She also earned a certificate of Excellence from Great Britain’s Royal School of Music, and on to the USA, where she toured in over 45 states with a Professional Repertory Theater based in Los Angeles, California.
Christabel’s love for cultures, peoples of the world, music and faith have allowed her to share stories through song and talks in India, Australia, Thailand and for the Governor General of Jamaica. She was invited as the musical guest artist to sing live at the reality TV show Mizo Idol, the Indian version of American Idol, on the semi-final night. She spoke at the Ethnic Summit in Spartanburg, SC and held a workshop encouraging church leaders to celebrate ethnic diversity in music at their churches. She has had the opportunity to direct a community choir that accompanied singer/songwriter Christa Wells (Dove Award Winner) from Nashville, TN. Christabel collaborated with Christa Wells on the choral arrangements for her songs “Pass it on” and “On the Mountain”, as well as BMI songwriter & country artist Nicole Witt. She has also directed the youth choir at the Charlotte Chin Christian Church – a people group from Myanmar for the Presbyterian Regional Conference. She also produced and directed the African International Choir for a Concert headlining Matu Saye, a Liberian Gospel Artist for her tour in the USA. She was recently invited at a peace summit for 61 different people groups in Myanmar called the Zofa Global Festival in November of 2014.
Earlier in her career, she performed at Disney World, sharing the stage with 80’s/90’s top artists such as Truth, Mylon LeFevre, and Crystal Lewis. She had the opportunity to open for the Imperials. She has helped lead worship for a Joni Erikson Tada conference and for Dr. Bruce Wilkinson (Prayer of Jabez) when he was president of Walk thru the Bible Ministries. She sang at the Billy Graham Crusade in Charlotte, NC with the Choir. She even served as a Voice for Compassion International, an organization similar to World Vision.
Christabel served as the Director of Music at Manchester Creek Community Church. After 13 years of fruitful ministry, she stepped down for a season to be a full time wife and mother to three wonderful boys; Christopher, Isaac and Joshua. Christabel met her husband of 20 years, Glen, who is also a professional musician in South Carolina.
Christabel is the founder and director of Carolina Voices of Faith – a multi ethnic, multi-generational, interdenominational Musical Group. An organic group of local musicians from all walks of life that perform in local churches, summer fairs, conventions etc.. Christabel is a speaker at conventions and teaches at workshops about bringing nations together through music. She also serves on the worship team with her husband, Glen, at Transformation Church (TC was recognized as the 2nd fastest growing church by percentage in America for 2010 by Outreach Magazine. In 2011 and 2012, TC was again recognized as one of the top 100 fastest growing churches in America) in Indian Land, SC, and is currently a worship leader at the Rock Hill Campus. She also steps in as interim Worship Leader in local churches to help them as they transition to new seasons of worship leaders.
Christabel's passion is equipping the next generation to use music & the arts as a vehicle to serve Christ, no matter where the call may be, and to live daily in worship of a loving God, as a follower of Christ, a loving wife, mother, friend, worker, student, etc.....
